Purpose

This article provides an in-depth look at how to apply Points Redemption to your Allbound portal as an Allbound Administrator user. Also listed are our recommended best practices/tips and frequently asked questions about this feature.

Introduction

Our Points Redemption feature allows users to redeem their acquired Gamification points for e-gift cards, using our Tango Card integration. When activated, each point is equivalent to 1 cent (USD, $0.01.) Points Redemption is related to Gamification, but it cannot stand alone without Gamification. So, why not offer your partners a tangible reward for good behavior!

Points Redemption Use Cases

Elevate your partner's user experience with Allbound and incentivize/reward them to interact with it on a daily basis to encourage team work.

Points Redemption Settings

Your company's Allbound administrative user(s) may establish the Points Redemption rules across the platform within the Points Redemption Settings. Strategically choose which e-gift cards to activate and what dollar amount to assign to your company's account.

A. Balance tab: view the balance information for your account

• The Current Balance is the amount of funds you have allocated to your gamification program

• The Unredeemed Point Value is the amount of funds that your partners can collect on based off the amount of points they have available to redeem

B. Funding tab: choose which credit card to apply towards funding the e-gift card(s) in the portal. Maximum one-time amount is $3,000.00. *Note: Funding may take up to 24 hours to be verified in our system. There is a 3.5% fee added to each transaction. To add additional funds, you will need to select a credit card and enter in the amount of funds necessary. Each time you add funds to your program, you will be able to see the history of funds allocated

C. Payment Details tab: enter the credit card information for the card you wish to use to fund the e-gift card(s.) *Note: new credit cards may take a couple of hours to be verified in our system. To fund with this card please wait after the card has been added and allocate funds at a later time

D. Unredeemed tab: this tab shows the value each user has the potential to redeem. These are outstanding amounts that the partner can collect on. This report can be exported as an Excel file or CSV

E. Fulfillment tab: this tab shows the user’s redemption history. In this report, you will be able to see which e-cards are popular with partners and which partners have actively redeemed their points

F. Activate Points Redemption: toggle on to activate points redemption across the platform. Toggle off to deactivate points redemption across the platform. Users may redeem points by hovering over their circular profile image in top toolbar and clicking "Redeem Points"

G. E-Gift Card Value Limits: set the minimum and maximum dollar amount to apply to gift cards. It is extremely important to set fill-out these fields before moving forward. This sets the parameters around how much a partner can redeem points

H. E-Gift Card Selection: choose your e-gift card from Tango Card's selection of various retail stores, restaurants, airline companies, and even entertainment companies for different global currencies

Best Practices/Tips

  • To strategically use Allbound's Points Redemption feature, we recommend these best practices:
    • Consider your partners' country/region while choosing gift cards. There is the option to choose gift cards in different global currencies.
    • Keep in mind that each earned point equates to one USD penny ($0.01.) Thus, it is best practice to mindfully associate a dollar amount to points. We recommend strategically "gamifying" your content with a point value for your users to accumulate enough points to truly make the most of successful gift card redemption.
  • To monitor the Points Redemption activity amongst your Allbound users, follow this best practice:
    • We recommend monitoring and exporting the Unredeemed and Fulfilled tables within the Points Redemption Settings. If users are accumulating points and not redeeming them, you may always send your users an Allbound mass notification to remind them to redeem before a specific timeline; especially if you clear points on a monthly/quarterly/yearly basis via the Gamification Settings.
  • To drive adoption of the Points Redemption feature, we recommend this best practice:
    • Educate your partners about this incentive! Ensuring that partners know they can earn (and redeem) points in the portal will encourage them to perform the desired actions. We have seen customers place a button and/or hero image on their dashboard informing their partners of this feature. Also, we have seen customers share information about these features in webinars or newsletters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.   Do we have to use Tango Cards for e-gift cards?

A.   Yes, Allbound has specifically integrated with Tango Cards. We do not integrate with other e-gift card companies.

Q.   Can we associate a web page within Allbound to promote personal company merchandise instead of the e-gift cards for prizes?

A.   We cannot associate a separate page for our customer's personal merchandise for prizes instead of the e-gift cards. However, we have seen customers enable Gamification without Points Redemption; their marketing department organizes to send merchandise to users outside of Allbound. Their marketing department may monitor the Gamification Activity and User Points tabs to see which users rank the highest

Q.   How much money is each Gamification point worth?

A.   Each point equals 1 cent (USD, $0.01)

Q.  Do the recipients of the Points Redemption program provide tax forms if the e-gift card value exceeds a certain amount?

A.   No tax forms are necessary

Q.   Will an Allbound Administrator user(s) receive a notification if the funding credit card for Points Redemption is low?

A.   No, administrator user(s) will not receive a notification

Q.  Can we create Dynamic or Static Groups to group gift cards together based on currency? (Example: only show partner company A gift cards in USD, only show partner company B gift cards in GBP?)

A.   At this time, we cannot do this within the Allbound portal. All gift cards in all currencies will show to partner users

Q.  A scenario regarding currency conversion: A user has 15,000 Gamification points, which is equivalent to $150 USD. If the user is located in Canada, and they want to redeem their 15,000 points for an Amazon Canada e-gift card, is that e-gift card worth $150 USD, or (based on the current exchange rate,) is the e-gift card now worth $203 CA?

A.  When an Allbound users redeems their Gamification points for an e-gift card, Tango Cards completes the conversion. There is an API we call to get the current conversion rate. So the 15,000 points will be worth whatever the conversion is worth.
