Purpose
The purpose of this article is to instruct Allbound Administrator users how to issue Certifications to users who completed a Learning Track before the Certification was created. Also listed are our best practices.
Introduction
This feature is available to all customers with the Certifications feature enabled.
In response to customer feedback, we have introduced Certifications attached to Learning Tracks. Previously, only users who completed a Learning Track after the Certification was created could be certified. However, with this new feature, Administrator users now have the ability to certify users who have completed a Learning Track even before the certification was attached to it.
Instructions
1. Login to the Allbound platform
2. Click on the Settings Gear icon within the top toolbar and then click "Training & Certifications"
3. You will be directed to the Manage Certifications table
4. Choose the specific certification for which you want to issue certificates and then click on the checkbox next to the Certificate name
5. Click the "+ Predated Certifications" button to proceed with issuing certifications to eligible users
Issue Predated Certifications by Custom Date
By selecting the "Custom Date" option, you gain the flexibility to choose a specific start date for issuing certifications. All users who completed a learning track after this chosen date will be eligible to receive the certification.
This enhancement allows you to efficiently manage the certification issuance based on your requirements, ensuring that deserving users receive their certifications for their accomplishments.
Issue Predated Certifications from Creation of Training
By opting for "From Creation of Training," the system will automatically issue certifications to all users who have completed the learning track after the track's creation date.
This straightforward approach simplifies the certification process by automatically recognizing and rewarding users who successfully complete the training after the learning track's inception. It eliminates the need for manual intervention and ensures that all deserving learners receive their certifications promptly.
Best Practices
- Mind the Certification Expiration Date: When creating a Learning Track, ensure that its duration does not exceed the certification's expiration date. Otherwise, there is a risk of issuing certifications that are already expired as soon as they are issued. By aligning the Learning Track duration with the certification expiration, you avoid this issue and maintain the validity of certifications.
- Opt for "Custom Date" for Fresh Certifications: In most scenarios, it is recommended to use the "Custom Date" option when issuing certifications. By selecting a specific date, such as the start of the year, you guarantee that users have recently completed their certifications. This helps keep your certification records up-to-date and reflects the learners' current knowledge and skills accurately.
By following these best practices, you can efficiently manage certifications and ensure that your users receive valuable and relevant certifications for their learning achievements.
