Purpose

This article goes over step by step how to connect and get started with the Allbound HubSpot Integration. This is everything you'll need to do on your side within HubSpot before you start mapping fields with your integration specialist.

Steps to follow

You will need to add integrations@allbound.com as a user in your HubSpot for the Allbound integration to access the HubSpot API. HubSpot requires an authenticated user license to be associated with read/write permissions in order to make API calls through an integrated app. Allbound will need read/write permissions to the following objects in HubSpot: Contacts, Companies, and Deals. This user is tied to the API and therefore cannot be shared with anyone on your partner program team. Credentials for this user will be validated before the integration process can begin.

We recommend super admin access to avoid errors and sync failures due to restricted field permission sets.

CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

The Allbound Integration requires custom fields to function properly with the integration. Please add the following fields to your HubSpot objects.

  • You will need to add the following required Allbound fields to the Companies, Contacts, and Deals objects in order for the integration to function properly.

How to add Allbound as an admin in your HubSpot:

1. In HubSpot settings, go to Account Management -> Users & Teams.

2. Click, "Click User"

3. We recommend selecting "Quick Invite" which allows you to use pre-set permissions, such as Superadmin.

4. Enter integrations@allbound.com into the text box. Select, "Make super admin". Click "Send Invite".

Once completed, you will need to add the following custom fields.

How to add fields to objects in HubSpot:

  • Clear the gear icon (top right hand corner) to go to HubSpot settings. In setting, click on "Objects" in the "Data Management" section.
  • Allbound integrates with Contacts, Companies, and Deals
  • First, click into Contacts. You will need to create 2 fields on the Contacts object. One field for Allbound ID, and another for Allbound Deal ID.
    • Click on “Manage Contact Properties.”
    • Click “Create Property”
  • The object Type = Contact
    • Group = Contact Information
    • Label = Allbound ID
      • Click on </> for the Internal name (which is the field’s API key) and it should read allbound_id.

  • Then, click “Next”.
  • Select the field type. This should be created as a single-line text field. Then, click Next. Nothing else needs to be checked off before clicking “Create”.
  • Follow these steps again to create another property on the contact object for Allbound Deal ID. This will follow the same process, but with the label being “Allbound Deal ID”.

  • Next, you can use the dropdown at the top of the page to switch to the Company Properties.
  • You will need to create three fields/properties on the Companies Object. One for the Allbound ID (same steps as you did to add it to the contact object), another field/property for Allbound Status, and another for Allbound Deal ID.
    • The Allbound Status field must be created as a dropdown select (Not a radio button and not a checkbox).
      • Follow the screenshots below. Make sure the options to populate in the dropdown select field are Active, Inactive, and Pending.

  • After Next, click “Create".
  • Still on the Company object, create another property/field for Allbound Deal ID. This will be the same process as the Allbound ID, but the label will be Allbound Deal ID and the internal name/API key will be allbound_deal_id.

  • Next, created the Allbound ID field on the company object.
  • The object Type = Company
    • Group = Company Information
    • Label = Allbound ID
      • Click on </> for the Internal name (which is the field’s API key) and it should read allbound_id.

  • Then, you can use the dropdown at the top of the page to switch to the Deal Properties
    • First, click into Deal Properties. You will only need to create one field on the Deals object for Allbound ID.
